LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Corrigan man charged with three counts of intoxicated manslaughter has been released from the hospital and the investigating officer said he expects to serve a warrant for his arrest soon.
Vicente Gonzalez, 30, is accused of driving drunk in the incorrect lane on U.S. 59 near Diboll on May 29 and hitting an oncoming vehicle, killing two adults and a child and injuring another child.
Gonzalez suffered a broken arm, leg and pelvis in the wreck, according to Trooper Josh Senn, the investigator of the wreck.
Senn said he plans to speak to Gonzalez today and make arrangements for his arrest.
"The jail may not want to take him in yet if he's in a cast or anything," Senn said.
Willie Lacy, 48, of Alto, and Crystal Thomas, 29, of Lufkin, died on the scene. Thomas' son, Christopher Gross, 4, died in a hospital on June 5 from injuries suffered in the wreck. Thomas' and Lacy's son, Jovair Thomas, 7, was injured in the wreck.
