Five employees at Center Hallmark accept voluntary severance

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Five employees at the Hallmark plant in Center have accepted the voluntary severance, a spokeswoman with the corporate office said.

The spokeswoman, Julie O'Dell, said the company is still going through the workforce reduction process and it may have a further effect on the Center plant.

The company announced in April it would be reducing its workforce by up to 750 employees. Company-wide layoffs are expected.

Prior to the announcement, the plant employed 79 workers.
