Firefighters extinguish brush fire near Zavalla

ZAVALLA, TX (KTRE) - Area firefighters spent about an hour getting a Zavalla blaze under control today.

A Zavalla firefighter said about an acre of brush burned and threatened a vacant home. He also said the fire was likely caused from a combination of a broken power line and the dry weather.

A tanker belonging to the Zavalla Volunteer Fire Department also caught on fire from an electrical problem which was unrelated to the forest fire.
