Fourth of July Celebrations

EAST TEXAS (KTRE) - Don't forget about the big daylong local Fourth of July celebrations in Lufkin and Nacogdoches.

Lufkin's fireworks display sponsored by Mike Love and Associates will be at Ellen Trout Park at 9:15 p.m., however, there are plenty of events going on all day at the Zoo.  If you don't want to fight the traffic, shuttle buses will begin running at 4:30 p.m. from Lufkin High School.  There will be no parking at the Zoo and portions of northwest Loop 287 will be closed.  Visitors are asked to park at the nearby Angelina County Expo Center, or along Loop 287, where permitted.

In Nacogdoches, Celebration at Festival Plaza in downtown Nacogdoches begins at 5 o'clock Saturday afternoon.  With the fireworks show beginning 30 minutes after dark.   Click here for a schedule of events:  www.visitnacogdoches.org.

And, if you would rather enjoy a fireworks display and celebration from the comfort of your own home, watch KTRE Saturday night beginning at 8 o'clock.  KTRE-TV will air Freedom Over Texas, a Fourth of July celebration featuring country music sensation Clay Walker and the largest land-based fireworks show in the nation.
