Rain welcomed after day of fighting wildfires

EAST TEXAS - Firefighters have been battling some blazes throughout the state, including two large fires in West Texas.

In a news release, the Texas Forest Service said bulldozers battled a 2,300-acre weekend fire in Haskell County.  A 1,000-acre blaze was fought in Shackleford County.

Smaller fires also were reported in Palo Pinto, Throckmorton, Angelina, San Jacinto, Tyler and Fayette counties.
