Tenaha ISD student dies in his sleep

TENAHA, TX (KTRE) - A seventh-grader enrolled at Tenaha ISD died in his sleep Wednesday night, according to a principal with the district.

Principal Scott Tynes confirmed the death, but said no other details on the death were immediately available.

A spokesman for the Tenaha Police said the death is under investigation and he could not comment on it at this time.

The death is the second tragedy for the 1A school district this year as two children were killed following a car wreck. A truck driven by Eloy Lara of Palestine, had swerved to avoid stopped traffic on the highway and hit three children while they waited to get on the bus. Two of the children were killed.
