NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Drug activity usually leads to other kinds of crimes, like robbery, assaults and shootings. Spring Hill Apartments in Nacogdoches experienced all three Wednesday night.

First, two men were taken to the hospital after being hit by beer bottles and robbed of their keys and money. Several hours later police were called back to the same complex on East Main. Officers were told someone in a vehicle drove through a crowd pointing a handgun at them.   Officers arrested Danny Gibson for having crack cocaine. He also had a b-b pistol under the seat of the car.

Officers were called back a third time to a more volatile situation. This time shots were fired from a real pistol. Police say organized criminal activity and retaliation occurred against the crowd for tipping-off police to the violence.  Tyson Anderson was arrested for deadly conduct, possession of marijuana, and possession of a controlled substance, probably crack cocaine. Corey Williams was arrested for assault. And Lachad Rushing was arrested for possession of suspected ecstasy, another controlled substance.

The owner of Spring Hill Apartments says none of the people arrested, lived at the complex. Doug Dowler just took over the property in March with goals of strict enforcement of illegal or unruly behavior from residents and their guests. First order of business is to repair an automatic gate to restrict gatherings on his property.
