William King Wants Change Of Venue

On November 25, 1998, William King's lawyer announced that he wanted a change of venue, or to have the trial moved out of Jasper County. He said he did not like all of the publicity and felt that his client would not receive a fair trial.

On December 5, 1998, Jasper County District Attorney Guy James Gray said he believed that the trial could take place in Jasper. He said that with the publicity all over the state, it is going to be no more difficult to pick a jury in Jasper than anywhere else.
