LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Former Lufkin Panther graduate (1999) Rex Hadnot's left knee injury is not as serious as first thought.  Hadnot, was injured during a blocking drill on Thursday August 6th and tore his left medial collateral ligament.

He was engaged with defensive lineman Louis Leonard when rookie linebacker David Veikune got pushed into the outside of Hadnot's left knee.  Hadnot started 15 games last season for the Cleveland Browns.

Hadnot could be back for the season opener against the Minnesota Vikings September 15th.
