LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - There were only five protesters Thursday afternoon, but they're hoping collectively their cries for economic stimulus in North Lufkin will be heard.
They're protesting on Kurth Drive for more jobs in North Lufkin. Most of them have been laid off and need jobs, but some are there just for support.
"I am 100 percent disabled veteran and I've spent half of my life in the VA hospital by fighting for this country," said protester George Harris. "I don't need [a] job. I get plenty of money, but I'm looking out for the other people."
They said all together there are about 10 people that have come out to protest, but they plan on being there for the next two weeks.
