Corrigan Bulldogs have their sights set on becoming "top dog"

CORRIGAN, TX - (KTRE) The Corrigan Bulldogs are looking to regain their "top dog" status.

The top ranked Corrigan team is playing for a perfect district record and a trip to the state championship.  Corrigan is picked by several high school polls to be a top contender in their division.

For the players they're just waiting on a chance for redemption, especially when it comes to New Waverly, the team that knocked them out of the championship last year.  "We want to make sure we're prepared.  We're not looking too far ahead, but we do have short and long term goals for this season and we're working hard to meet them,"  said Seven Armstrong, Corrigan Head Football coach.

Corrigan's season opener is August 28 against Newton.  Kick-off is 7:30.
