Seized animals now can be viewed by public

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - The Nacogdoches Animal Shelter scheduled late Monday a three day Adopt-a-Thon for over 130 animals, mostly dogs, that were seized over a week ago in the Kingtown area.

The public can view the animals beginning Tuesday. Viewing hours are 7am - 5pm at the Nacogdoches County Exposition Center. The Adopt-a-Thon is scheduled to end on Thursday.

If an animal is adopted, the new owner must agree to have it spayed or neutered. Pit bulls, small dogs, a few rats, and a couple of bunnies are needing homes.

The animals were taken from a so called 'puppy mill' in the Nacogdoches County. The previous owner chose not to contest the seizure. The woman is still facing cruelty to animal charges.
