WODEN, TX (KTRE) - Woden High School has been slapped with a one year probation by the University Interscholastic League. A coach lost a female student athletes testing consent form for steroids.
The young lady in question never tested positive she did play basketball and participated in track and field. However no student athletes tested positive for steroids, said Woden ISD Superintendent Brent Hawkins. "We had no positive tests, and it's just one of those unfortunate deals," Hawkins said.
Earlier this year between January and May 16,260 high school athletes were tested but only eight came back positive the lawmakers in Texas have decided to slash the funding from 6 million dollars to 2 million dollars for the testing of steroids in high school athletics.
Woden High School was one of only four schools in the state that was put on probation for violating procedure. Lewisville High School, Anthony High School and North Forest High School were the others to receive the probation notice from UIL officials.
