LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Some changes are coming to the softball fields at Morris Frank Park.
The Lufkin Parks and Recreation Department said these new restrooms will make the fields more usable for out-of-town softball teams. The city said a lack of funding made it tough to build the restrooms, but their need justifies the project.
"The last restroom that was built there was done by the Girls Softball Association and it was kind of a poor boy thing," said Director of Lufkin Parks and Recreation Don Hannabas. "Dads and moms worked on it and developed it, but there wasn't many stalls in that restroom."
Hannabas said there's a contractor there working on them now and they are getting ready to pour the concrete.
