Nacogdoches woman killed, five injured in wreck

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A Nacogdoches woman was killed and five others were injured, including a baby and toddler in a two-vehicle wreck just west of Nacogdoches on Highway 21.

According to a DPS report, Erica Josie Morales, 28, of Nacogdoches was driving a Honda Accord on the shoulder on Highway 21 at 5:44 p.m. Wednesday before attempting a U-turn. Tammy Bivens, 46, of Nacogdoches was following her and struck her during the U-turn.

Morales died at 9:08 p.m. at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital.

Bivens, a Fed Ex driver, is listed in stable condition at Memorial.

Four passengers in the Honda were hospitalized with Eric Nieto, 27, Alex Nieto, 2 and Rita Nieto, 11 months, listed in critical condition. Cynthia Saltero, 29, is in stable condition.
