Lufkin Police arrest alleged 'Prankster'

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin Police have arrested a man who have alleged to be "Prankster" on charges of terroristic threat, a police spokesman said.

James Tyler Markle is accused of causing damage to a Lufkin McDonald's through a prank call, Young said.

Young said Markle gave a statement admitting to his involvement in the prank.

He was arrested around 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Markle allegedly called an employee on June 20, telling him the fire suppression system may be malfuctioning and he needed to pull the pin on the fire extinguisher.

He then allegedly told the employee the fumes from the extinguisher were toxic, and he needed to evacuate the building and give Markle a cell phone number to call the employee back on.

Once the employee was outside, Markle allegedly told the employee to break the windows to relieve the building of toxic fumes.

The Jefferson Parish, La., Sheriff's Office also served Markle with a warrant today while he was in jail.
