9/11/09 Lufkin Police Report

Assault,700 Block Clark Street: Complainant reported that his mother-in-law slapped him and his brother-ion-law punched him during an argument Thursday night.

Theft, 800 Block Ellis Avenue:  Complainant reported that his child's bicycle was stolen from his back yard Wednesday night.   

Burglary/Vehicle, 1700 Block Frank Avenue: Complainant reported that her car was broken into Thursday evening and a laptop computer was stolen.

Burglary/Habitation, 700 Block Markus Avenue:  Complainant reported that his garage was broken into sometime during the past week and a generator, two bicycles and a yard trimmer were stolen.  A vehicle in the garage was also entered and the stereo was stolen.

Theft, 100 Block Brentwood Drive: Complainant reported that a man stole a cell phone from a store display Thursday afternoon.

Theft, 300 Block E Laurel Avenue: Complainant reported that a known suspect pawned a television that she owed money on.

Theft, 2500 Block Daniel Mccall Drive: Complainant reported that an unknown male suspect stole two cases of cigarettes from a delivery Thursday.

Burglary/Building, 500 Block E Laurel Avenue: Complainant reported that a building he was remodeling was broken into Wednesday night and several tools were stolen.

Theft, 1200 Block W Frank Avenue:  Complainant reported that she left her cell phone in a break room Thursday and someone took it.

Assault, 1700 Block S First Street: Complainant reported that her boyfriend choked her until she passed out during an argument Wednesday night.

    James Henderson's defense attorney, Stanley Sokolowski, started off the third day of court by questioning the state's witness, Investigator Bill Rulland. The cross examination lasted most of the morning and even a little into the afternoon. According to Investigator Michael Molnes, with the Houston County Sheriff's Office, Sokolowski attempted to discredit Brenna Theuer's witness testimony, as well as testimony from Robert Mobley.  The trial is expected to head into closing arg...More >>

    More than a few tar-covered tires are hanging on to the parking lot of a Lufkin tire shop.  On August 31, newly laid asphalt on Loop 287 started sticking to tires of those driving, leaving many of the cars un-driveable. As of Friday, the Texas Department of Transportation hadn't come out with an official cause for the incident, but that hasn't stopped over 600 people from filing claims with them.     Deputies with the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office made two felony drug arrests and seized marijuana, Prometh VC with codeine, hydrocodone, Alprazolam, and ecstasy after a traffic stop near the intersection of Robb and Jefferson streets late Tuesday night.
