NEWTON COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A man died following a one-vehicle wreck south of Burkeville in the early morning hours Friday.
A justice of the peace pronounced Terry Bozeman, 22, of Many, La., dead at the scene at 2:30 a.m.
According to the DPS report, Bozeman was driving his 2003 Ford F-150 southbound at a high rate of speed on FM 1414, 7.3 miles south of Burkeville when he lost control, leaving the road. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the truck.
Jame Frederick May II, 37, of Brookeland, a passenger in the truck, is listed in stable condition at Jasper Memorial Hospital.
