NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Stephen F. Austin Jack of the Week is Cory Barlow, Barlow has seen the good times in the program and the bad. The fifth year senior safety has played for two coaches in his career as a Lumberjack but says it's made his a much stronger person for dealing with plenty of adversity suffering through a 0-11 season just two years ago.
"You never want to go through something like that so you have to make every correction and everything in your power to not let that happen again and it feels good to get off to a good start. So far and like I said I've got a good feeling about this season and I hope we keep rolling." Barlow said.
Barlow is very content that the team is off to a 3-1 start and hopes that the momentum continues to roll with Southland Conference play set to begin next week against Mcneese State at Homer Bryce Stadium for 6pm kickoff.
"We got a group of seniors that really carry the team and a lot of good leadership going on right now and I think this is the year that we came together. I really feel we got good things in store for this team with the discipline, unity, and leadership."
Cory Barlow is your Jack of the Week he has suffered through some painful loses but now the wins continue to pile up and everything comes full circle for the fifth year senior safety.
