Lufkin hosts Conroe for Homecoming

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - On Friday night the Lufkin Panthers improved their record to 5-1 after thrashing New Caney 47-6.  They have combined to outscore the Eagles the past two meetings 108-6.  The Panthers were lead by junior quarterback Deauntre "Bush" Smiley who rushed for 184 yards and two touchdowns, scoring runs of 88 and 21 yards.

Sophomore running back Jamarcus Walker also had a 54 yard touchdown run to pace the pack to an easy victory.  The Panthers will host Conroe Friday night October 16th at Abe Martin Stadium kickoff is at 7:30 it will be Homecoming for Lufkin.  Conroe is 3-3 they beat Conroe Oak Ridge last Thursday night 22-21.
