HUNTINGTON, TX (KTRE) - Huntington Red Devils football team is trying to bounce back this week after losing to Rusk last Friday Night 48-6.  They come into this week with a positive attitude even though the team has a 1-5 record.  Huntington will host a very good Jasper Bulldogs team that is scorching hot right now; Bulldogs haven't lost since Week Zero August 28th when they lost to Gilmer 42-14.

Huntington first year head coach Todd Hopkins feels good even though the team is still in a rut the vibe around campus with his players is still very upbeat and positive.

"This is a building process the kids are in it whole heartedly their excited about the things that we have done."  That is the thing when the program has continued to lose the "oh no" here it goes again mentality comes into play."  We try to stay positive as a coaching staff and try to keep the kids up and help them see it through" Hopkins said.

The Red Devils will be on the road next week and face district foe the Diboll Lumberjacks, Diboll is also off to a slow start this season they are also 1-5 heading into Friday night's game they will have their hands full this week with a good Center Roughriders team who is 4-2.
