Saddle up and mossy on down to the 13th Annual Nine Flags Festival in downtown Nacogdoches. The annual celebration of Texas history and culture will be held Nov. 14 through Dec. 12.

The festival officially kicks off with the downtown lighting and opening ceremony Nov. 21. Other events include Breakfast With Santa, Tour de Nac bike ride, Wassail Fest, Jingle Bell Run, a Tour of Homes and the largest lighted Christmas parade in East Texas.

Commercial Bank of Texas Lights up Nacogdoches

Downtown Nacogdoches will be transformed into a winter wonderland Saturday Nov. 21 when Commercial Bank of Texas Lights Up Nacogdoches with more than 3 million twinkling lights.

Festivities will get under way at 6 p.m. with live music, children's activities, food, carriage rides and much more. The lights will come on just before 9 p.m., kicking off the 13th annual Nine Flags Festival.

Wassail Fest

You are invited to Wassail Fest in downtown Nacogdoches from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28.

Holiday shoppers can warm their bodies and spirits by sampling participating merchants' recipes while strolling in and out of downtown businesses. A map is available at the Visitors Center, located at 200 E. Main St. Admission is free.

Millard's Crossing Christmas Celebration

Step back in time this holiday season with a visit to Millard's Crossing Historical Village in Nacogdoches where Christmas is still celebrated the old-fashioned way.

The Old Fashioned Christmas Celebrations will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, at Millard's Crossing Historical Village, located a half-mile north of Loop 224 on Hwy. 59 in Nacogdoches.

Lighted Christmas Parade/Fireworks

The largest lighted Christmas parade in East Texas will be held in downtown Nacogdoches at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5.

Don't miss the beautifully lighted entries in the parade, a special part of the 13th annual Nine Flags Festival. A festive fireworks display will top off the evening.

Come downtown early for arts & crafts booths, food vendors and children's activities beginning at 2 p.m. Admission is free.

Tour of Homes

The annual Christmas Tour of Homes, featuring four homes in a historic neighborhood, will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12.

Tickets are $10 and available at the Nacogdoches Visitors' Center located at 200 E. Main St. Tickets also may be purchased at any of the featured homes on the day of the tour. Proceeds benefit Historic Nacogdoches, Inc.

Jingle Bell Run

Lace up your sneakers and stretch out those hamstrings - it's time for the Jingle Bell Run!

The certified 5-K run and 3-K walk will start at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, in downtown Nacogdoches. Registration forms are available at the Visitors' Center located at 200 E. Main St. and online at www.nineflagsfestival.com.

Tour de Nac

Get your spokes and tires spinning- it's time for the 3rd annual Tour de Nac Bike Ride!

The 7.8 mile, 27.8, and 53.3 mile rides will start at 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, in downtown Nacogdoches. Registration forms are available at the Visitors' Center located at 200 E. Main St. and online at www.nineflagsfestival.com.
