LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Another former Lufkin Panther continuing to play football beyond college. Terrance Parks who helped lead the Panthers to 12-3 record in 2002 will be competing for the starting quarterback spot for the Odessa Roughnecks of the indoor football league.
"Terrance will be one of three quarterbacks competing for the starting position in training camp for the Roughnecks. Following our scouting process, we were very excited about signing Terrance. I believe he has all the tools to become an effective quarterback both throwing and running. Athletically, we see him in a similar way as former Roughnecks quarterback, Jason Johnson. There are many ways that we can utilize him." Coach Chris Williams said.
Parks played at Baylor University for three years before transferring to Tarleton State. The indoor football league begins practicing in March of 2010 the season will begin in April. Parks will join his fellow high school teammate running back Jorvorskie Lane. Who signed with the Roughnecks exactly two weeks ago on October 7th.
