Governor appoints Nacogdoches, Newton men to river board

AUSTIN, TX (press release) - Gov. Rick Perry has appointed three members to the Angelina and Neches River Authority Board of Directors for terms to expire Sept. 5, 2015. The board sets policy, provides oversight and employs a general manager for the Angelina and Neches River Authority, which oversees water resources in 17 counties surrounding the Neches River Basin.

Dominick "Nick" Bruno of Jacksonville is the retired past vice president of Austin Bank. He is director of the Crime Stoppers of Jacksonville and Go Texan Rural Community Program of Cherokee County, and president of the Nichols Green Park Foundation. He is also past director of the Cherokee County Heart Association, Cherokee County Stock Show and Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce. Bruno is being reappointed.

Keith Drewery of Nacogdoches is president of Drewery Construction Company Inc. He is a member of the National Rifle Association and Vision America of Nacogdoches Board of Directors, and a trustee of the Harvest Point Community Fellowship Board.

James "Jim" Hughes Jr. of Newton is a self-employed insurance and investment broker. He is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, and a life member National Rifle Association, Texas State Rifle Association and Navy Enlisted Reserve Association. Hughes served in the U.S. Navy Reserve.
