NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Meet your Jack of the Week from Hutto, Texas senior offensive left tackle Karl Glimp. Glimp didn't always have quarterback Jeremy Moses best interest at heart he use to play on the other side of the ball.
"It's just something that I was made to do I mean I'm athletic guy I just had to gain some weight learn a bunch of things that redshirt year then as a freshman just that first game against Tulsa I was terrified but after that I learned hey I can do this," Glimp said.
Offensive line coach and recruiting coordinator Chris Truax sings the praises of Glimp and says he leads by example day in and day out and.
"Karl has been a journeyman around here he has seen a lot of lows and now a lot of highs are going on for him he's part of this reason that a four year veteran in this place has been successful he's stay focused and his believed in everything that we taught him. The values and character in this team and he's bought in and these other freshman bought in with him and he's a leader and he does it on and off the field and does a great job of representing Stephen f. Austin athletics," Said Truax.
Glimp has started 41 straight games for Stephen F. Austin but he lacks a win against the team he despises most and will get a chance to end the losing streak this Saturday at homer Bryce Stadium at 2pm.
"41 wow that's a lot I didn't realize that this is my fourth game against Sam we haven't won one really want to win against them this is the one team that we really hate it's been a long road though."
Karl Glimp was named honorable mention All Southland Conference last season he will go down in the Stephen F. Austin record books with the most career starts in school history Karl Glimp is your Jack of the Week."
