10/28/09 Nacogdoches Police Report

Theft; 100 block of Creekview Bend. Complainant reported a cell phone stolen.

Harrassment; 300 Block of West College. Complainant reported that a known suspect continues to send text messages after being told not to do so.

Burglary of a Habitation; 3400 Block Of East Main. A cell phone, camera, play station, and jewelry were reported missing from an unsecured apartment.

Assault; 200 Block of Muller Street. Complainant reported being choked by a known suspect during a disturbance. The suspect, Derric Reagen was located and arrested.

Burglary of a Vehicle; 600 Block of Esther. An unsecured vehicle was entered and a wallet taken.

Burglary of a Vehicle; 4800 Block of North Street. Two cell phones and prescription medication were reported missing from a vehicle.

Indecency with Child; 312 West Main Street. Complainant reported being touched by a known suspect over 40 years ago, while complainant was a child. Investigation underway.

Theft; 700 Block of East Main Street. A known suspect wrote a check on a closed account to purchase property. The property was located at a local pawn shop and taken into custody. Warrant requested.

    During a Monday night special meeting, Nacogdoches Independent School District named Sandra Dowdy the lone finalist for the superintendent position. Dowdy has served as interim for the last several months. Per a press release from NISD, Dowdy was selected from a field of 45 applicants. A state mandated 21-day period must pass between the board naming her as the lone finalist and formally naming her as the next superintendent of Nacogdoches schools.
