Lufkin man arrested after father killed in wreck

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin man was arrested and charged with intoxicated manslaughter just hours after his father was killed in a wreck.

Shiloh Chance Williamson, 19, was booked into the Angelina County Jail at 8:53 p.m. Tuesday, just over four hours after the wreck occurred.

DPS Spokesman Greg Sanches could not confirm the relationship between Shiloh Chance Williamson and Don Ray Williamson, 54, the man killed in the wreck. But a witness to the wreck said Shiloh Williamson told her he was his father.

According to the DPS report, Don Ray Williamson of Lufkin was the passenger in a GMC Sierra pick-up, which was northbound two miles north of Highway 103. When the driver, Shiloh Chance Williamson, veered right onto the shoulder of the road, he overcorrected and left the roadway on the opposite side and struck a tree, at about 4:42 p.m.

Don Ray Williamson was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

Shiloh Williamson is being held on a $15,000 bond.
