NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Jack of the Week Stephen F. Austin junior quarterback Jeremy Moses has been doing damage on the football field against opposing defenses this season. Throwing for over 1,800 yards and 20 touchdown passes to help lead the Lumberjacks to a 6-1 record and catapulting them to first place in the Southland Conference with a 3-0 record.
The pass happy offense suits the junior quarterback just fine he loves the system and loves throwing it constantly all over the field.
"It's every quarterback's dream right now we're throwing the ball around the lot and we're winning so everything is good right now," Said Moses.
Moses has taken a different philosophy this season, last year he felt that he had to force some throws to make a big play and that lead to interceptions.
"We do have a lot of confidence in our defense I can go out there and if it's third and long I can hand the ball off and just punt. That allows our defense to get a stop because 9 times out of 10 they will get a stop and get us the ball back. As a quarterback that's a great feeling to get the ball back without the other team scoring any points," Said Moses.
Third year head coach J.C. Harper loves the Jack of the Week honor and feels that it gives his players some extra incentive to have the honor even if it is only for a week. Moses is the recipient of this honor for the second time in his career Stephen F. Austin will play at Texas State Saturday October 31st and return home next week to host Nicholls state for a 6pm kickoff. Jeremy Moses is hoping to lead the Lumberjacks to the Southland Conference title. He is the gunslinger for the team that sits atop all alone in first place. Jeremy Moses is your Jack of the Week.
