LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Two men charged in the March shooting death of an SFA student pleaded guilty to a lesser charge Thursday.
According to a statement released from the Nacogdoches County District Attorney's Office, Okeiron Bowser and Marsh Odom pleaded guilty to a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The state dropped the charges of murder and aggravated robbery for both cases.
Bowser is sentenced to eight years in prison and Odom is sentenced to five years. Both will be eligible for parole after they have served half their sentences.
"The victim's family has been extensively involved throughout the entire preparation and presentation of the case. They were both understanding and supportive of the resolution in the Bowser and Odom cases," said District Attorney Nicole LoStracco.
