BULLARD, TX (KLTV) - For almost a century, Rosine Coughran has lived in East Texas, painted it, and written about it. At the age of 96, Coughran takes pride in her independence and her heritage, living on family land near Bullard, first settled in the 1800's Some of Coughran's favorite paintings are of her family home and scenes from the early days.

Although Coughran's sister was a professional artist, Coughran has never sold her paintings, preferring to give them away instead. However, she always has her paintings framed as soon as she completes them because she says "it's like they are her children and she would never let them go away unclothed..." Coughran has also written a book of poetry and a book about her early days in East Texas.
