LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Two people were arrested after a man allegedly punched a Lufkin High School principal Thursday afternoon while he was attempting to break up a fight, according to a Lufkin Police spokesman.
Lt. Ronnie Larue said two girls at the school were in a fight in which a staff member and the principal attempted to break up. The mother and brother of one of the girls was at the school. When the principal attempted to break it up, the brother punched him in the face, Larue said.
Larue said Dextravian Robertson was arrested on charges of assault, failure to identify and three city warrants.
The mother, whose name was not immediately available, was arrested on outstanding warrants.
The principal was not hurt, Larue said.
Superintendent Roy Knight said the incident began Wednesday night at a church outreach program when two groups fought at the church.
