Man pleads guilty in cop evasion case

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A man involved in a Nov. 2008 case in which he and another ran from police during a traffic stop pleaded guilty Monday to the crime.

According to a previous KTRE report, Diboll Police pulled a car over driven by Eddie Williams and Tarrance Woods. They were going to be cited for speeding but pulled away from the officer then pulled over and ran from their car.

Diboll and Lufkin Police surrounded an area near Crown Colony and caught them.

Williams pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana and evading arrest.

He was sentenced to 18 months in state jail and is credited with having served 363 days of that sentence.
