CORRIGAN, TX (KTRE) - A Corrigan man totaled his pickup truck today when police say he rear-ended a school bus as it stopped to pick up students.
Michael Morales told investigators the harsh morning sun blinded him and caused him to drive his Ford F150 truck into the school bus carrying seven elementary school students. The accident occurred at 2807 Henry McQueen Street in Corrigan.
The students and Morales were transported to Memorial Medical Center of Livingston. They were treated and released for minor injuries. Most of the students were taken to the hospital at their parents' request.
Morales is a recent Corrigan High School graduate. Police say he wasn't ticketed for the accident. Chief James Ferrar says he's lucky to be alive.
