Air problem causes train to stall for two hours in downtown Lufkin

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - An air problem caused a train going through Lufkin to implement its emergency brakes, stalling the train for about two-and-a-half hours in downtown Lufkin, a manager with Union Pacific said.

The train blocked several street crossings along Angelina and Feagin Streets as a crew tried to investigate the problem.

The problem was fixed around 9 a.m. and the train left town.

The problem occurring in the middle of town was pure coincidence, the manager said.
