LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - The disappearance of Amelia Earhart in her attempt to fly around the world, is one of the most intriguing mysteries of the twentieth century. Numerous books have been written about the aviation pioneer, as wel as the recently released movie, "Amelia." Pilot Jerry Jurenka of Longview has first hand knowledge searching for answers to Earhart's disappearance.

Amelia Earhart and her navigator Fred Noonan disappeared on July 2nd, 1937 in an attempt to be the first to fly around the world. Earhart had already captured the spotlight with other aviation firsts.

Jurenka was part off an expedition sponsored by the international aircraft recovery group "Tiger." Although the group failed to locate the airplane wreckage, they did find numerous clues. But, because only clues such as serial numbers could verify the find, the mystery of Amelia Earhart's disappearance remains a mystery.
