Hudson and Douglass High Schools among best in nation

EAST TEXAS - The Best High School 2009 search is over and there are three honorees in the KTRE viewing area.  They are Hudson High School in Angelina County, Douglass High School in Nacogdoches County and New Summerfield High in Cherokee County.

Each year U.S. News & World Report, in collaboration with School Evaluation Services, a K-12 education and date research and analysis business that provides parents with education data, analyzes academic and enrollment data from more than 21,000 public high schools to find the very best across the country.  These top schools were placed into gold, silver, bronze, or honorable mention categories.

Hudson, Douglass and New Summerfield High Schools all received a bronze medal.  They were among 72 schools in the state of Texas in that category.  Overall, Texas had 11 gold medals, 39 silver, 72 bronze and 1 honorable mention.  You can find out more about the Best High School 2009 search here
