Man get's kidney after years of waiting

DIBOLL, TX (KTRE)- About a month ago we told you about a Diboll man with kidney failure. Larry Lewis has been waiting patiently for a donor. Lewis has undergone dialysis for four years. Doctors told him it could take roughly ten years until he received a good kidney. That all changed when he received a phone call from Nashville, Tennessee, with news that he would be receiving a kidney from an anonymous donor.

"It means a lot because now you know, it's like getting a second life.  It's being you know, I'm more able to do the things I really want do that I couldn't do before," said Lewis.

Lewis had spent several hours a week at the doctor. Now, he is excited that he will be able to enjoy life to the fullest once again. He believes a guardian angel watches over him, making this all possible.
