Angelina College Students Win Speech & Theater Awards

The Angelina College cast and crew of the play, "Endgames," returned from the Texas Community College Speech and Theater Association Play Festival at Blinn College in Brenham with 17 awards. Patrick Vaughn, AC theater instructor, directed the play.

Brian Matthews of Lufkin received the Bill Morton Challenge Award for Acting Excellence. Melanie Goff of Corrigan and Cody Wood of Jasper received the Greg Schneider Memorial Award for Technical Excellence.

"Endgame," received an overall superior rating, and the production team brought home a superior rating in technical design-judge.

Superior ratings in acting went to Bobby Clark of Nacogdoches, Johnny Mena of Broaddus, Casandera Lollar of Lufkin and Brian Matthews. Lacey Woodard of Burkburnett and Connie Carnley of Lufkin took superior ratings for their work as production assistants. Brandi Pfleider received superior ratings for make-up design and make-up design-judge.

Krystal Harper of Diboll received an excellent rating in costume design-judge and a superior rating in costume design. Melanie Goff had superior ratings in set design-judge and in set design.

An excellent rating in sound design-judge and a superior rating in set design went to Cody Wood.
