DIBOLL, TX (KTRE)- Diboll ISD opened their doors today to parents offering up hugs and mugs to show appreciation to members of the community for their support.
"It's our chance to have them come back in and get reacquainted with the staff and the administrators and show how much we still appreciate them being supportive of our community," said Assistant Superintendent Kevin Mathis.
This year's open house also included a door decoration contest where staff could show off their holiday spirit. Kevin Swor doesn't have a door, so he decorated his with a chicken and fake ransom note.
"We had to bring the real thing. We've got the chicken here," said Swor.
After voting for their favorite door display or chicken, people could enjoy treats, and take home a mug of their own.
