NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE)- A man who authorities say killed his wife has been arraigned and formally charged with murder.
John Presley's estranged wife Stephanie Fowler Presley, of Nacogdoches, was reported missing Thursday afternoon by family members after she did not attend work and was not at her home.
Presley's body was discovered Thursday morning in a wooded area in Nacogdoches County, near the Rusk County line.
According to Sheriff Thomas Kerss, John Presley was attempting to cross the U.S. border into Mexico. He was apprehended yesterday and taken by an officer and Texas Ranger to the Nacogdoches County Jail, and arrived at the jail Saturday at one a.m.
Presley was arraigned by Judge Perkins Saturday. He is still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail on a 300,000 dollar bond.
Charlotte Marie Mohhr Mallow, 40, of Pasadena, was with Presley and detained for questioning. She has been charged with hindering apprehension, a third felony charge. Mallow's bond has been set at 75,000 dollars.
