Huntington teen injured in Pollok wreck

POLLOK, TX (KTRE) - A Huntington teen-aged girl traveling with her family was taken to a hospital Wednesday afternoon following a two-vehicle wreck in front of the Lufkin State Supported Living Center.

According to DPS Trooper Joshua Senn, Howard Daniel, 83, of Pollok was attempting a left-hand turn around 2:30 p.m. out of a beauty salon and was hit by a southbound Dodge van driven by Edward Nolan Jr., of Huntington.

Nolan's van ended up in a ditch. He, his wife and one-year-old child were OK after the wreck, but their daughter, Kay Hodges, 16, was transported by ambulance to a Lufkin hospital to be treated with an injury to her legs.

Daniel was cited for failure to yield right-of-way.
