DIBOLL, TX (KTRE) – More money usually means more problems when you're a professional athlete.  On Wednesday it was a different story former Diboll standout Jermichael Finley now shining with the Green Bay Packers as their tight end decided he wanted to give back this holiday season.  Finley and his foundation teamed up with the Diboll ISD to give Christmas presents to a family in need.

A single mother of four, Lakesha Gardner and her four sons were the lucky recipients of several gifts on behalf of Finley and his foundation.  Gardner was nominated by Diboll Temple Elementary school principal Nikki Miller.  Miller selected Keanthony Wilmore the oldest son of Gardner as a nominee for the gifts to be presented to the family.

After receiving several nominations from schools within the Diboll school district Finley and his wife Courtney selected Gardner and her boys. She was very happy so much so that she thought after receiving the call that someone was playing a joke on her.

"When I got the phone call I was really excited at first I actually didn't believe it I was so excited.  My son was really excited it played out really well just like Jermichael planned it. He loved it because he is always talking about giving back to the community," Gardner said.

Finley will be hosting a carnival in Diboll for his son Kaydon 2nd birthday party in Diboll at the Primary School January 23rd from 12pm-3:00pm.
