Restaurant Report- Angelina County- December 31, 2009

Taqueria Lindo on Timberland received 22 demerits. They need to reduce the prep-table temperature, all employees need food handler cards, and there was no food manager on site. Shelves must be smooth and cleanable. They need to clean and sanitize all the kitchen surfaces, clean the floor, replace broken and missing floor tiles. The back door must fit tightly, and test strips are required at the manual washing station. They also need to sanitize inside the ice machine, and the ice scoop must have a handle.

Outback Steakhouse on First Street was handed 18 demerits. The cold hold items must be forty five degrees or below. All employees must have food handler cards within 30 days of employment. Items must be kept out of handwashing sinks. Towels are required at all hand-washing sinks, and the inside of the ice machine needs to be sanitized.

Trinity Mission of Diboll was given 5 demerits for improper thawing. Food items must be submerged in water with cold water flowing. Also noted in the report a gap at the back door needs to be sealed, but they were not given a demerit for this.

Wataburger on Brentwood Drive received 5 demerits. The mayonnaise was at an improper temperature. It needs to be between forty one degrees and forty five degrees, and inspectors found it at fifty six point eight degrees.  

And congratulations to the following for receiving zero demerits: Taco Bueno, Brookshire Brothers Number 35 meat market, grocery, deli and bakery.
