HOUSTON COUNTY, TX (KTRE) – Authorities arrested alleged kidnappers Jamie Hallmark, 21, and her mother, Amanda Bailey, Sunday night in McAlester, Okla. Hallmark's three children, allegedly taken from their home near Grapeland, were located at their grandfather's home.
Hallmark and Bailey are in custody at a nearby jail. Sgt. Randy Hargrove with the Houston County Sheriff's Dept. said the two are charged with interference with child custody and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
The children, ages 2, 5, and 6, are with relatives.
Authorities say the three children were taken from their aunt's home on highway 287, just outside of Grapeland. Child Protective Services reportedly placed the kids there when they were taken from their mother, Jamie Hallmark, 21, who is now believed to be the kidnapper. A regional Amber Alert was issued Sunday evening.
Three brand new bikes from Christmas morning were the only sign of three missing Houston County children at their residence Sunday morning.
"They just got up in the middle of the night and took them, just took all of them," said Samantha Minter, aunt of the missing children.
Authorities say the mother of Jestine, age six and her two younger brothers, Jemeni and Jayden, ages five and two, took the children early Sunday morning. CPS removed the kids from their mother's custody last month following a felony drug charge.
"You know CPS took them for a reason," said Minter. "They felt they were in some kind of danger."
The family was concerned the kids may have been in serious danger.
"The family reported to us that they had two weapons missing from the home," said Sgt. Randy Hargrove, Houston Co. Sheriff's Department. "They said they feel felt like one of them was in van for sure."
"I just wish we could bring them back home or at least call somebody so we could go get them," said Minter.
Hallmark and Bailey will be transported back to Houston Co. Monday afternoon, according to Hargrove.
