LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) – Clark Lewing, a former drum instructor for Hudson I.S.D. was present for a hearing this afternoon in an Angelina County courtroom.

Lewing, who was convicted of an inappropriate relationship with a minor, was given probation last November. The victim was a student at the school where he coached drum line.  The judge had him in court today to officially amend his probation conditions.

Normally sex offender are not allowed to reside at least 1,000 feet from a school, park or daycare facility; places that children regularly use.  His residence now and prior to his conviction is located within that limit and the judge signed a waiver allowing him to stay there.  However, told him he ever moved that the previous probation condition would come back in effect.

During the hearing, Lewing told the judge the victim tried to contact him, but he reported it immediately. The judge reinforced that any contact with the victim is explicitly against his probation conditions and told him not to answer if she attempts to call or contact him again.
