LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A provision of what would have been a probation sentence for a Lufkin man kept an Angelina County district judge from approving a plea bargain Thursday.

Elroy Edwards, known as "Candy Man" because he sold candy and soda from his Cedar Grove home, is charged with indecency with a child by contact.

Part of the probation sentence required Edwards from coming within 1,000 feet of the victim. However, Edwards lives next door to the resident.

Despite the prosecution agreeing to change the provision prohibiting Edwards from contacting the victim, District Judge Barry Bryan ruled he needed to review the case, because Edwards sold to children from his home.
