WOODVILLE, TX (KTRE) - Bond for a Colmesneil man arrested in connection with an armed robbery of a bank has been set at $500,000.

William Shutter II, 23, allegedly robbed a Compass Bank branch in Colmesneil Wednesday afternoon and escaped on foot. Authorities managed to apprehend him a few hours later near Lake Tejas.

Tyler County Sheriff David Hennigan said Shutter is charged with aggravated robbery. He said the department will also turn in the charges to the U.S. Attorney's Office so it may file a federal charge of bank robbery.
