Girl injured in Nacogdoches bus wreck

NACOGDOCHES, TX (PRESS RELEASE) - The Nacogdoches Police Department investigated an auto crash involving a loaded school bus this afternoon.

The accident occurred at 3:33 pm in the 100 block of Sir Galahad St. near the intersection of NE Stallings Drive.  It involved a 2005 International school bus, owned by the Nacogdoches Independent School District and driven by Clarence Harvey, age 70 of Nacogdoches and a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Ryan Goss, age 21 of Nacogdoches.

The school bus was carrying approximately 70 students from Carpenter Elementary and McMichael Middle School. One student, an 8 year old girl received a minor injury and was transported from the scene by a parent. No other injuries were reported.

The accident occurred when the bus was making a right turn onto Sir Galahad from Stallings. The PT Cruiser was stopped at the stop sign and the front of the bus struck the rear fender of the passenger car.

Damage was light, and both vehicles were driven from the scene. The bus continued its usual route. No charges were filed.
