LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Supporters turned out to enjoy live music and a dinner buffet, to benefit the Arts Center, who did not have its lease renewed from its previous location.

Several local musicians headlined the event, alongside noted author/musicians Kathi Kamen Goldmark and Sam Barry.  Art Center staff said the hope events like this will help create awareness in the community to raise money for a new facility.

"We're hoping to raise awareness that the Art Center is losing our space but we're not going away and we want the community to know that we're going to try to keep existing, and we'd love to have your support," said Director of the First Street Arts Center Alisa Steed.
