Workers demolishing remains of VFW

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - What's left of the Lufkin VFW is being demolished, so that rebuilding can begin.

Crews are tearing down the remains of the building, and when they finish sometime next week, there will be nothing left but a clean foundation. VFW members say rebuilding will start in a few weeks, and they are hoping for the building's completion within eight to nine months.

The VFW received heavy damage from the tornado that hit Lufkin on Dec. 23.
